Laurie Pietragallo, LPC

Laurie accepts Highmark BCBS, Cigna, Optum/United insurance or out of pocket payments.

I believe the greatest gift we can offer to someone in need is the ability to meet them where they are and without judgement. Due to a lifetime of reasons, four of which are my lovely children, I did not re-enter the world of academia until my early 40's. The time prior to school enriched my life's experience and serves me well when connecting with clients. My approach to therapy is humanistic, providing a supportive environment comprised of acceptance and appropriate humor. My specialties include treatment of anxiety and depression as well as issues concerning self-esteem, relationships, and substance use.

I hold a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology, and a graduate level certificate in Infant Mental Health, both from Chatham University. My clinical experience has centered around community settings as an adult outpatient therapist working with clients who struggle with severe and chronic mental illnesses, mood disorders, personality issues, and issues regarding substance use.

My general approach to therapy includes a balance of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) to treat symptoms affecting daily functioning and Psychodynamic Therapy, which explores the origin of a problem if so desired. I am passionate about helping others and look forward to working together with you to obtain greater joy and inner peace.

Kelli Jo Murphy, RN, LCSW

Kelli accepts Highmark BC/BS, Optum/United, out of pocket rates, and can offer a sliding scale based on income on a limited basis.

My name is Kelli Murphy and I have been a Registered Nurse since 1994 and received my MSW in 2010. Many years of my nursing experience was in psychiatric and behavioral health nursing, but I also have experience in surgical care, long term care, vocational rehabilitation, and oncology.

I feel very strongly about a true holistic approach to both physical and mental/emotional health. I do not believe that you can tend to one effectively without also attending to the other. In my practice I always assist clients in addressing physical health factors and lifestyle issues that may be attributing to the issues for which they are seeking therapy. I address diet/nutrition, activity, sleep, life balance issues, as well as review relationships with primary care physicians and other specialists. I conduct health education as needed and assist clients in becoming active in their whole care, as well as teach self-advocacy skills. I also work with clients who have chronic health conditions. I work with them to assist them in understanding their condition, coping with adjustment issues, and managing conditions for best quality of life possible.

I also enjoy working with couples who are either going through some conflict or who may be seeking divorce mediation. I strive to help improve communication and minimize the emotional impact on the children.

Currently I run caregiver support groups and assist caregivers in tending to and protecting their physical/mental/emotional health. I have completed training in Motivational Interviewing and Shared Decision Making and continue to keep up on current trends in health care related issues.

Mary Brodland, LCSW

Mary currently accepts Highmark BCBS, UPMC Commercial, United/Optum, out of pocket and sliding scale clients.
